Dan from
Why Make Clocks and
Fetal PigJust got off of a few day stint with Dan Huchison (above) in the great midwest. Although driving through the midwest can sometimes be monotonous... traveling with Dan was both fun and great. Over our four or five days together, I got to see him perform in most of his musical manifestations, Why Make Clocks, Fetal Pig, and Dan solo. Blessings shall fall upon us that we may be able to continue this inspired rock 'n roll trend for many more years to come! I strongly recommend checking that Fetal Pig record out. It has a little of that Minutemen in it and all the flavor of the greatest era of music ever: the Reagan years.
* Class M Planets will be recording some songs at Kingsize Soundlabs Chicago at the end of this month with Mike Hagler. This is very exciting. I got to work with Mike some 15-20 years ago with thebrotheregg. For this, I am planning on just getting up there and doing some raw acoustic production for a few of the more recent songs, "First Love", "New Romantic", "True Compass", and this new thing I have cobbled together, "Simple Shapes" based on some old lyrics I found in an old folder. As opposed to any meticulous production aesthetics of this past, this will be a straight shooter. Just boy and guitar. Oh, and the secret ingredient is : Lots of Chutzpah!
* Hoping to solidify two last shows while here in the Midwest, one in Chicago and t'other in Milwaukee. We'll see. Check this space shortly for more details!
